Chinese automaker Haval will launch an engine plant in Russia at the end of 2022. This is stated in a press release received by Izvestia on January 13.
The new plant will be located in the Uzlovaya industrial park in the Tula region. The enterprise will launch the production of engines that will equip more than 90% of Haval vehicles manufactured and sold in Russia.
The company plans to produce up to 80 thousand engines per year. Investments in production will amount to 4 billion rubles.
In total, Russian Haval dealers delivered 39,126 vehicles to customers in 2021, an increase of 125% compared to 2020 (17,381 vehicles). The total sales of Haval for the entire period of the brand’s activity in Russia exceeded 70,000 vehicles and amounted to 73,898 vehicles.
On December 10, it was reported that Haval introduced the Dargo SUV. The first foreign market for the model will be Saudi Arabia, after which the novelty will also appear in Iraq, Chile, Russia, Ukraine and other countries.
