Russian premium SUV Aurus Komendant received vehicle type approval (OTTS). This document gives the automaker the right to sell the model in the country.
Judging by the information from the document, the length of the car is 5380 mm, width – 2004 mm, height – 1820 mm. The wheelbase reaches 3100 mm.
The serial version of the SUV will receive a 598-horsepower hybrid installation, which consists of a 4.4-liter gasoline turbo engine and an electric motor. There is only one transmission – a nine-speed automatic.
The SUV is certified in a four-seat version. The list of options includes an electric steering column adjustment, door closers, a refrigerator, all-round cameras, gear shift paddles, a multimedia system for rear passengers, steering wheel and windshield heating.
On May 31, 2021, the grand opening of the AURUS plant in the Alabuga Special Economic Zone of the Republic of Tatarstan took place.
The assembly of cars is mainly carried out manually using an intelligent tool, with which the operator controls the process of assembling and installing parts.
It will be possible to assemble not only a car in a sedan body, but also a Komendant crossover at the existing capacities. Also on the car, at the request of the client, it is possible to install light and medium armor.
The Russian project “Cortege” (market name Aurus. – Ed.), within which Russian luxury cars are being developed, was launched in 2014. The manufacturer intends to create on the basis of a single platform a series of cars: sedan, limousine, convertible, minivan and SUV.
