The Korean company Kia has introduced a new generation of compact crossover Niro.
As stated in a press release received by the editors of Izvestia on January 17, the car is built on a completely new platform and features a spacious interior and a spacious luggage compartment. The model is 4420 mm long, 1825 mm wide, 1545 mm high and has a wheelbase of 2720 mm. The useful volume of the trunk reaches 451 liters.
The new Niro offers a choice of hybrid powertrain (HEV), plug-in hybrid powertrain (PHEV) and all-electric battery powertrain (BEV).
Engine 1.6 l. will be installed on the hybrid version of the crossover. The fuel consumption of such a car is only 4.8 l / 100 km. Sales of the Niro HEV version in Korea will begin in January 2022. The PHEV and BEV versions will be available at a later date.
The new Niro features a full suite of advanced Drive Wise driver assistance systems, including for the first time ISLA (Intelligent Speed Limit Assist). This system uses the vehicle’s front camera and navigation system to provide alerts and adjust speed if the vehicle is driving over a set limit.
Also, built-in external cameras can record memorable trips and beautiful scenery. The recordings can then be viewed via the car’s infotainment system or smartphone.
November 16, it was reported that Kia will release a new seven-seater crossover, which received the working title KY. According to reports, the car will be built on the basis of the Seltos model, from which the novelty will inherit the chassis, powertrains, front end and overall design concept.
