Cars: a few days before the end of the month, patents continue to grow against 2023

With 14 business days of the month elapsed out of a total of 22, the patenting of cars October maintain their positive trend.

Patent projections for October are 40,906 units, taking the car segment plus light commercial vehicles. If the participation of “heavy” vehicles is added, the final number should exceed 42,000 vehicles.

This way, The total 2024 market should be slightly above 400,000 km and close approximately 10% below 2023.

At the beginning of the year, a drop of close to 25% was estimated.

Regarding behavior by brand, Toyota leads sales with 27.1% of the October market, followed by Volkswagen with 16.6%.

The list is completed by Fiat (11.4%), Peugeot (8.3%), Ford (7.2%), Renault (7%). Chevrolet (5.8%), Jeep (3.8%), Nissan Citroën (2.8%) and Nissan (2.6%).

The top ten of the most patented models of the month is led by the Toyota Hilux, with 9% of the market. The Japanese brand also occupies position 2 with Yaris (7.2%) and third is the Peugeot 208 (5.2%), which displaced the Corolla Cross to fourth place (5.1%).

Fifth place goes to the Volkswagen Amarok (5%), which continues to win the duel against the Ford Ranger, which is eighth with 3.6%.

In 6th and 7th place are Fiat Cronos (4.7%) and Volkswagen Polo (4.6%).

Behind the Ranger, 9th place is occupied by the Corolla (3.4%) and 10th goes to Volkswagen Taos with 2.9% of operations.
