In Russia, 325,945 vehicles were recalled for repair in 12 months of 2021. This is 50% less than in the same period in 2020. This was reported on January 19 by the press service of Rosstandart.

“Rosstandart notes a trend towards a decrease in the number of recalled cars, that is, those that do not meet the requirements of the technical regulation of the Customs Union “On the safety of wheeled vehicles,” the report says.

It is noted that one of the reasons for the decrease in the number of recalled cars is the effectiveness of supervisory measures in the market. This has led to a more responsible approach of automakers to the design of equipment, compliance with the technology of its production and selection of component suppliers.

In 2022, Rosstandart plans to start informing car owners about recall campaigns through the State Services portal.

On December 21, it was reported that Toyota is recalling 9,916 Venza vehicles sold from May 31, 2013 to March 3, 2016 from the Russian market for repair.

For vehicles subject to a recall campaign, the wires of the sensor of the passive safety system may be damaged during operation. In this condition, the driver’s side airbags may not deploy in certain types of collision, increasing the risk of injury.
