Sales of used crossovers and SUVs in Russia in 2021 grew by 5.7% compared to 2020. This is stated in a press release received by the editors of Izvestia on January 20.
It is noted that used crossovers and SUVs at the end of 2021 have risen in price more noticeably in comparison with the used car market as a whole. The average price for crossovers and SUVs increased by 22.8% and amounted to 798 thousand rubles, while the rise in price in the market with mileage as a whole amounted to 20.8%.
“Despite the higher cost compared to cars of other classes, crossovers and SUVs continue to be in demand among Russians. Buyer interest in the SUV segment is evidenced by a significant share in total sales in the used market — about 20% in 2021,” says Kirill Votyakov, Managing Director of Avito Auto.
The first line in the top of the most popular used cars in the crossover and SUV segment is occupied by Lada 4 × 4 with an average price of 185 thousand rubles. Chevrolet Niva is on the second line, the average cost of which in 2021 reached 301 thousand rubles. Third place went to the crossover Renault Duster with an average price of 745 thousand rubles.
At the end of 2021, the average cost of the most popular used crossovers and SUVs in Russia increased. The average price of Lada 4×4 increased by 10.1% over the year. The Chevrolet Niva model has risen in price by 11.5%. Crossover Renault Duster has risen in price by an average of 24.4%.
On November 12, it was reported that Avito Auto experts analyzed data on cars put up for sale and found out how much popular used models have risen in price over the past 10 months. It is noted that in some large cities of the country, the increase in prices for used cars was much more noticeable.
