Driving with a “snowdrift” on the roof can be dangerous. Auto expert Vladimir Solovyov told about this on Friday, January 21, in an interview with Sputnik radio.
He noted that the snow on the roof of the car can block the entire view when stopping, and the driver will be blind on the road. This can lead to tragic consequences.
Solovyov added that the falling snow from the car interferes with other drivers who follow.
“Those who have spent more than one winter behind the wheel probably know that even ice floes break off large trucks,” he said.
Earlier, on January 19, auto expert Petr Shkumatov told how to properly care for a car in winter. He noted that it is necessary to monitor the levels of liquids, fill in anti-freeze for temperatures lower than outside. Shkumatov also spoke about the need to have a “motorist’s kit”: a cable, a spare tire, a compressor and additional anti-freeze fluid. If the car “behaves strangely” and the motorist does not understand the reason, the vehicle must be taken to a service station.
