The INDEC measurement includes care expenses linked to the goods and services of girls and boys according to age range:
- Raising basket for children under 1 year old: $388,184
- Parenting basket for girls and boys from 1 to 3 years old: $460,220
- Parenting basket for girls and boys ages 4 to 5: $381,230
- Parenting basket for girls and boys from 6 to 12 years old: $479,723
The values of the breeding baskets increased on average 4.2% during September, above inflation for the same month.
How the INDEC breeding basket is measured
INDEC obtains these values from an exhaustive evaluation that includes both the monthly expenditure to acquire the goods and services necessary for child development and the cost of care, calculated from the time required for this activity. That is, it measures food, clothing, housing, transportation and care.
