Motorists are not recommended to leave the scene of an accident if they hit someone else’s car in the parking lot and damaged it, but it is necessary to call the traffic police inspectors. This was announced on Sunday, January 23, by the coordinator of the “Blue Buckets” movement and the head of the working group of the ONF “Protection of the rights of motorists” Petr Shkumatov.
According to him, the culprit of the accident can be confused by the case when the driver of the injured car is not in place.
“And since the second participant in the accident is not at the scene, it is necessary to call the traffic police to the scene of the accident and explain that the parked car was hit, that its driver is not in place and you don’t have his contacts either. And wait for the inspector, ”the Prime agency quotes Shkumatov.
The expert also noted that options with notes with a phone number to the owner of the car in the case when the driver of the affected car is not in place are also excluded.
“Because a person may turn out to be, let’s say, a little weird, and instead of calling you, he will call the traffic police. And then your departure will be regarded as hiding from the scene of the accident. And this is a deprivation of rights for a year, ”explained the source of the agency.
In addition, you need to be extremely careful in the parking lot, as you may not notice the fact of damage to someone else’s car before you leave the parking area. At the same time, street surveillance cameras can capture the violator, and then punishment will follow, Shkumatov added.
He stressed that such a violation does not provide for liability in the form of a fine, there is only deprivation of rights for a period of one to one and a half years.
On January 13, experts from SberAvto, an online car buying and selling service and SberUslugi, a secure service ordering service, published the results of their research, which showed what novice drivers are afraid of. The list of fears included the fear of not coping with parking, the fear of breaking the car if it was used improperly, the laughter of other people at the newcomer, and the fear of violating traffic rules.
In addition, it was noted that newcomers to the roads are not confident in their abilities and constantly play scenarios of emergency situations in their heads.
