The head of the Probok.net project, Alexander Shumsky, spoke in his Telegram channel about the punishment a motorist can suffer for a controlled skid (drift).
“According to clause 2.7 of the SDA, drifting can be considered dangerous driving, but they only plan to introduce a fine for this (3 thousand rubles). In the meantime, inspectors have to look for reasons to hold accountable fans of “give a corner.” You don’t have to search for a long time, since such a skid is always accompanied by a bunch of violated rules, starting from crossing the markings (500 rubles) and ending with an oncoming lane (4-6 months of deprivation of rights),” Alexander Shumsky explained.
The expert also noted that since such a style of driving can lead to a large number of victims, the prosecutor’s office has increasingly begun to qualify aggressive behavior on the road under Art. 213 of the Criminal Code as hooliganism (up to 5 years in prison).
On November 26, the traffic police said that the main causes of road accidents among novice drivers are the wrong choice of distance and the discrepancy between speed and specific traffic conditions.
