It is worth remembering that during the discussion of the Bases law, the Rio Negro administration had supported the implementation of the Large Investment Incentive Regime (RIGI), with interest in keeping the mega investment that YPF and Petronas planned to make in the start-up of a Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) plant in Bahía Blanca.

The Patagonian province was in fact the first to join the RIGI and ended up being awarded the project, which will be located in Sierra Grande.

Offers for medical planes

At the same time, the Rio Negro administration announced this Wednesday that it received offers from two companies for its medical planes.

The Secretary General, Nelson Cidesdeclared that “The sale of these aircraft is crucial for the Province since, just because they are in the hangar, they imply high costs in dollars for their maintenance. We understand that this is not convenient for the State. The decision to sell the planes responds to the need to prevent them from continuing to generate these expenses.”

The opening of envelopes for the sale of the two aircraft that the Province has in its possession took place in Viedma and two bidders presented themselves.

On the one handthe company Aerovida SA offered various alternatives: for the Cessna plane, a mixed proposal was presented that combines an amount in money and the provision of medical flights and another that covers the entire value of the plane only in medical flights. Meanwhile, for the Piper Azteca, an offer of US$50,000 in cash was presented.

On the other hand, the firm MD Fly SA presented a single offer based on the entire value of the aircraft, but through the provision of medical flight services.

The next step will be a technical and legal evaluation to determine if any of the offers are admissible. If any offer is approved, the winning proposal will be defined within an estimated period of between seven and ten days.
