The head of the Probok.net expert center, Alexander Shumsky, in his official Telegram channel, reminded drivers of the fine for driving to an intersection with “waffle” markings.
The expert noted that a motorist would have to pay 1,000 rubles for this violation (Article 12.13.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses). If this fine is paid on time (within 20 days), the driver will receive a 50% discount.
Traffic cameras began to fine for leaving the “waffle iron” marking from March 1, 2019. The traffic police believe that this measure will reduce congestion and improve traffic in the city.
The cameras record a violation if a car has entered an intersection with “waffle” markings and creates an obstacle to the movement of other cars.
On November 26, the traffic police said that the main causes of road accidents among novice drivers are the wrong choice of distance and the discrepancy between speed and specific traffic conditions.
