It is expected that, by the end of 2025, this factory will reach the production of 150,000 vehicles intended to supply mainly the South American markets, and by 2026 this figure should increase to 300,000.
The Brazilian government reported that this investment is projected to create 10,000 direct jobs by 2025 and 20,000 by the end of 2026.
The plant is located in the Camaçari Industrial Complex in the state of Bahia. And, until a couple of years ago, it belonged to the Ford automobile company, which stopped producing vehicles in that country. In addition to BYD, two other Chinese automotive companies are already producing in Brazil: Great Wall and Chery.
