The Moscow State traffic inspectorate warned motorists about a serious deterioration in the road situation on Friday, January 28, due to the snow cyclones Marina and Nadia approaching the Moscow region. The department stressed that the capital’s motorists are waiting for “tens of millimeters of rain, snowstorms and a five-day snowfall.”
In addition, the department has compiled a special memo for drivers, which they called the “Safety Menu”. In it, traffic police officers gave advice to drivers on how to drive in such adverse weather conditions.
So, according to the memo, drivers should keep a distance from the car in front, carefully monitor the traffic situation and the situation on the road, observe the speed limit, avoid unnecessary maneuvers, and also be polite to other road users.
On November 26, the traffic police said that the main causes of road accidents among novice drivers are the wrong choice of distance and the discrepancy between speed and specific traffic conditions.
