The series follows the renowned psychiatrist Viktor Larenzwhose life takes a devastating turn when her 12-year-old daughter, Josy, disappears without a trace during a medical visit. Four years later, Viktor, still consumed by guilt and despair, retreats to a house on a remote North Sea island, searching for escape from pain. However, his isolation is interrupted by the arrival of a mysterious woman named Anna Spiegela novelist who claims to suffer from delusions in which his characters seem to come to life.
Anna insists that Viktor treat her, but her stories soon turn disturbing as she reveals details about Josy’s disappearance that no one else could know. Caught between the hope of discovering the truth and the fear of losing his sanity, Viktor begins to question what is real and what is not. Therapy with Anna becomes a dark psychological game which leads him to confront his own demons as he tries to unravel the mystery surrounding his daughter.
