The IACHR granted precautionary measures in favor of the Argentine gendarme kidnapped in Venezuela

• adopt the necessary measures to protect the rights to life and personal integrity of the beneficiary. In particular:
• report whether the beneficiary is in the custody of the State and the circumstances of his or her detention; or, of the measures taken in order to determine their whereabouts or destination;
• specify whether the beneficiary was presented to a competent court to review his detention if he had been accused of crimes;
• expressly indicate the court that would hear her criminal case, if one exists, or the reasons why she has not been released to date;
• allow the beneficiary to communicate with his family and trusted legal representatives, giving them full access to his criminal record, if any; and
• enables you to have communication with the country of which you are a national; and
• report on the actions taken in order to investigate the alleged events that gave rise to this precautionary measure and thus avoid their repetition.

Patricia Bullrich, on the video of the Argentine gendarme kidnapped in Venezuela: “It is a pantomime of the regime”

The Minister of Security, Patricia Bullrichreferred this Friday to the video released by the dictatorship of Nicolás Maduro in Venezuela about the state of the Argentine gendarme Nahuel Gallo. In this framework, the official maintained that “Everything that is happening” is “a pantomime of the regime.”

Bullrich also demanded that “the only thing that Argentina accepts is that he be put on a plane and sent to the country.”

“We do not accept any game of an appearance, of a photo, that appears in an unknown place, walking, without sound and without a date,” Bullrich said in statements to Radio Miter. And he added: “There is no condition to show that they have it well, as if it were a normal regime, this is a dictatorship and dictatorships do these things, they give proof of life.”
