Broke one day after the warranty expired: billionaire complains about his Tesla

John Caudwell is a wealthy Tesla customer. But the British billionaire is disappointed. His Model X broke at the same time as his warranty expired.
The British billionaire John Caudwell vents: On the career network he asks in capital letters: “What kind of appalling customer service is this?” Below he describes his experiences with a Tesla Model X, whose four-year warranty apparently recently expired. Because right now, according to Caudwell, the car is causing problems.
The businessman describes that one morning his Model Since Tesla handles all customer service through an app, he couldn’t reach anyone by phone. Caudwell then had an employee drive to the nearest Tesla center, only to be told that the next possible appointment would not be available for three weeks.
He feared that it would then be discovered that the car’s 12-volt battery was defective – damage that would no longer be repaired under the warranty because it would then have expired.
“So far, I’ve generally loved my Tesla and its many innovations. It’s a pleasure to drive – despite the occasionally dangerous braking maneuvers of the autonomous controls – and I love that it’s environmentally friendly. But all of this really has me disgusted and tarnished my experience with the brand,” he continues.
Tesla customer service overwhelmed?
Caudwell didn’t want to be satisfied with the long wait. He then took matters into his own hands, gained access to the battery and charged it. The car is now running again, writes Caudwell, but he still doesn’t know what caused the battery to discharge – and now fears that the breakdown will happen again.
“Tesla really needs to improve to survive, let alone succeed,” sums up the billionaire. In the more than 300 comments under his post you can find both dissenting voices and similar experiences.
On the road in the Tesla Cybertruck: Fast, handy and with a few problems

On the move in the Everglades – the clean, angular, large design inside and out is definitely a show – but also leads to complicated and not entirely intuitive operation. This can be seen in the hidden loading flap as well as in the doors without a door handle.

The lack of service availability does not appear to be a local problem. Most recently, the “” reported on the “bizarre service hell in Hamburg”. It says that the service center in Hamburg had to send its customers to Kiel or Bremen for months because the service location in the Hanseatic city was “closed due to renovation work”. Among other things, this drove the waiting time for a tire change to 45 days, they say.
Personnel shortages were also cited as a possible reason for the month-long closure – Tesla is still looking for five employees for service at the Hamburg location.
