It only takes seconds before the Ferrari F40 is lost. One of the rare super sports cars crashed in Great Britain. Apparently during a test drive at a workshop.
This will be expensive: In Great Britain, a Ferrari F40 collided with a lamp post. According to media reports, a car mechanic literally dismantled the car. By chance, a car behind the red racer filmed the accident. The video only lasts a few seconds. It shows how the Ferrari howls, suddenly turns to the right, skids briefly across the street, rolls over and crashes into a lamppost.
Pictures from the accident site suggest that repairs, if possible at all, will be very expensive. Because the car is badly damaged. It is said that nothing happened to the driver. The accident car with the license plate “F40 PRX” is apparently known to fans: It is said to be the F40 with the highest mileage of all still existing examples. Its value is estimated between 2.5 and 3.3 million euros.

The Ferrari F40 was built from 1987 to 1992, a total of 1,315 vehicles are said to have rolled out of the factory, but it is not known how many are still in existence today.
Ferrari F40 is “the wildest of the prancing horses”
The F40 has a special reputation in the scene. The super sports car is based on a variant of the 288 GTO developed for racing and, with almost 480 hp, had an above-average engine for the time. The problem: Due to its low weight of just 1254 kilograms and rear-wheel drive, an F40 is by no means easy to drive. If the car swerves, which it tends to do, there are no technical assistance systems that can get it back on track. Inexperienced drivers then have to wait helplessly to see whether things will go well again or whether the car will come to a stop at an obstacle.
Auto mechanic takes 3 million Ferrari for a spin – and puts it on a tree
Without an accident, a Ferrari Enzo costs around three million euros. It might even be worth repairing, if possible.

That’s exactly what appears to have happened in the latest accident in the UK. We can only hope that the workshop is well insured. In any case, the reconstruction would be worth it – given today’s prices for these rare and dangerous cars.
