The couple was arrested this Monday in a address of the neighboring town of Azul and in the next few hours they will testify before the prosecutor in the case, Roberto Javier Berlingieri.
The case generated a great stir in the Buenos Aires town, unleashing situations of violence that led to an attempted attack on the house of the detained couple and the burning of the prosecutor’s home. Patricia Hortel, which wasn’t even part of the case.
Now, the prosecutor Juan Cruz Condomí Alcorta investigates the attack on his colleague’s home, which was repudiated by the Association of Prosecutors of the Province of Buenos Aires through a statement and already has two men from the area detained.
The case
It all started when the victim’s own mother reported in the Saladillo Women’s Police Station that her daughter was eight months pregnant. Finally, the minor gave birth at the Posadas Hospital.
Although the initial investigation pointed to another accused, the victim stated last week that her abuser would be her stepfather.
A few days later, his mother and stepfather were seen and filmed by neighbors hitchhiking on a local routewhich angered local citizens and sparked violence.
Firstly, the angry mob headed towards the victim’s family home, and in the second instance they went towards the prosecutor Hortel’s home under the slogan ““self-convened under the motto of justice by one’s own hands” and, according to a police report, ““covers and a mattress on the sidewalk were set on fire, affecting the wooden gate.”
There was a local rumor that claimed that previous complaints had already been made about the abuses, which had been ignored, but this was denied by the authorities.
