The official initiative received half a sanction in the lower house after receiving 162 affirmative votes.
The Government managed to get the necessary support within the opposition blocks and registered his first legislative victory of the year: the approval in deputies of the bill that suspends the elections Simultaneous and mandatory open primary (step) in 2025.
In addition to having the support of their allied blocks (PRO, MID, provincial referents), the ruling added more support from the Civic coalition and other accompaniments divided from the different Radical blocksof Federal Meeting and even had votes from Peronism
Of the 98 deputies of Union for the country, 43 voted against, while 25 accompanied the libertarian government project: These are those legislators who respond to the governorates of Santiago del Estero and Catamarcain addition to those referenced with the Renovating Front. None of them asked for the word in the debate. Another 24 abstained, from different origins of Peronism, while 6 were absent.
While the government celebrated the half sanction that its initiative received, the original intention was definitively eliminate them. However, given the lack of consensus and numbers to approve this proposal (he needed 129 votes for being an electoral reform) instead proposed a Temporary suspensionwhich allowed him to obtain more easily the support of different blocks.
He project was approved with 162 affirmative votes, 55 negatives and 28 abstentions.
The lower house continues the debate since reforms will also be treated in the Criminal Code and Criminal Procedure: Changes in reiterative, recidivism and condemnation; and the judgment regime by absence.

- Affirmative: 162 deputies. 41 of freedom progresses and allies; 37 of the PRO; 25 union for the country; 16 of UCR; 11 federal meeting; 8 federal innovation; 7 of democracy forever; Civic coalition 6; 3 of the MID; 3 of independence; 2 of production and work; 2 by Santa Cruz; and 1 of Neuquino Popular Movement.
- Negative: 55 deputies. 43 union for the country; 4 federal meeting; 5 of the Left Front; 2 of the UCR; and 1 of we defend Santa Fe.
- Abstentions: 28 deputies. 24 of union for the homeland; 2 of democracy forever; and 2 of the UCR.
- Absent: 12 deputies. 6 of union for the country (Bertoldi, Cisneros, Gollán, Pereyra, Pokoik and Zabala); 3 of democracy forever (Aguirre, Coletta and Rizzotti), United Barletta, Federal Meeting and Romero of the PRO.
