The fire brigade Ludwigshafen can report on unusual use. Because a woman was caught by her seat at the wheel, heavy device was needed.
A vintage car driver no longer got out of the car in Ludwigshafen due to a defect in the driver’s seat-and had to be saved by fire brigade. Because the seat could no longer be adjusted completely electrically, the woman was trapped behind the wheel, as the fire brigade announced. The seat could only be moved towards the steering wheel – but not back. The backrest was also no longer adjustable.
“As a result, the lady could no longer free himself from the predicament and was caught behind the steering wheel,” it said. The fire brigade’s forces first looked after them and kept them warm with ceilings. With a wide variety of tools, they would then have tried to move the seat and the backrest backwards or dismantle. They had two goals: “Freeing the lady and causing as little damage as possible to the classic car vehicle.”
Fire brigade Ludwigshafen uses rescue scissors
Despite the greatest craftsmanship, the attempts were initially failed. Then the so -called hydraulic rescue scissors were used. “With the help of this rescue device, the backrest of the seat could be easily processed so far that the lady could finally be freed from its forced position.” She was unharmed, was examined by the emergency services – and then released home.
