Skoda Enyaq RS Coupé: boost in performance

Skoda Enyaq RS Coupé: boost in performance

The successfully launched Skoda Enyaq will have a dynamic brother this spring. The coupé version looks a little sleeker than the normal Enyaq and offers hardly any less everyday use. The best thing about it: with the sloping roof, a new top model is being introduced, because the Enyaq Coupé is initially only available as a top RS version with almost 300 hp.

The VW ID.4 got a coupe brother with the ID.5, Audi also gave its Q4 E-Tron two body variants and now it’s Skoda’s turn with its Enyaq, which is also on the MEB modular system, in contrast to the four other models not in Zwickau, but in the Czech Republic. Visually, the Enyaq Coupé does not differ from its always handsome electric brother, apart from the slightly sloping roof line from the B-pillar. At 570 liters behind the flap that swings wide open, the loading volume is hardly smaller than the 585 liters of the standard Enyaq and the headroom in the rear is also almost identical despite the standard panoramic roof. Skoda CEO Thomas Schäfer: “Following the successful launch of the SUV, the new Enyaq Coupé iV brings even more emotion, sportiness and elegance to the Skoda iV family. Our designers and engineers have succeeded in combining high functionality with emotional design The new top version is also the first purely battery-electric Skoda RS model ever.”

With a length of 4.65 meters, the coupé is four millimeters longer than the Enyaq and at 1.62 meters the same height. The width and wheelbase are also the same at 1.88 and 2.77 meters, respectively. There are 19 to 21 inch wheels, matrix LED headlights and LED rear lights. The Enyaq Coupé is also available with the striking Crystal Face, in which 131 LEDs illuminate the vertical ribs and the horizontal bar of the grille. The new coupé model variant is available from the market launch only as an RS version with 220 kW / 299 PS / 465 Nm, which is even better than the previous top model Enyaq 80x with 195 kW / 265 PS / 425 Nm, but in autumn the Enyaq Coupé should also be available in the weaker iV60 and iV80 performance levels with 180, 204 and 265 PS.

Since the cW value of 0.23 is lower than that of the normal Enyaq, the version with the 82 kWh battery pack has a maximum range of 535 kilometers. In contrast to the normal Enyaq models, where propulsion is already over at 160 km/h, the RS Enyaq, like the VW ID.5 GTX and Audi Q4 E-Tron 50 Quattro, can still drive at speeds of 180 km/h, before the electronics brake the car. The space available differs from the normal Enyaq just as little as the operation. The central infotainment display with a screen diagonal of 13 inches and the 5.3-inch digital cockpit, which can be optionally supplemented with a head-up display with augmented reality function, are on board as standard. There is no official price yet, but the new top model of the Skoda Enyaq RS Coupé should start at just under 60,000 euros.
