Farewell to icons
11 motor vehicles that can no longer be bought (soon)
Since the invention of the combustion, there has been no such much movement in the car world. For some icons, switching to electric means the final end. An overview.
The world of automobiles has probably been in the largest upheaval since the burner was invented. New regulations, strict emission requirements, IT hurdles and the switch to electrical drives ensure that more and more long-serving models are sometimes retired by the manufacturers despite great success.
It affects young and old
Also this year it will hit numerous cars that have either shaped the street scene for years or have provided open mouths when driving past. Among them are real icons, for example the Nissan GT-R. The car called “Godzilla” will only be built for the Japanese homeland in the future, experts expect the last series.
Real city speeders also disappear from the scene. For example, the popular Abarth 595 is in sale. The Smart Fortwo has not been built since this year.
Some cars are the classics of tomorrow
A few cars, including the Audi R8, are still developing on their old days to real sales managers – of course also with the ulterior motive that the set model series could develop into classics of the future and increase prices.
Some manufacturers will show whether the bet will open. Jaguar, for example, says goodbye to any combustion engines in order to soon switch to electric cars completely and to focus on it.
The gallery offers a little insight into cars that are now no longer available as a new car.
