Driving fun at the top without: these are the coolest roadsters
Roadster promise driving fun and the best mood in sunshine. But new models are getting less and less – how good that there is a large selection of used ones.
With the MX-5, Mazda resurrected the Roadster segment, which was believed to be dead in the late 1980s. Hardly any vehicle class gives just a good mood behind the wheel as the convertibles for two. But around the future of BMW Z3 / Z4, Mazda MX-5, Porsche Boxster, Mercedes SLK / SL or Toyota MR2 it looks dark-very shame.
Mazda heralded a new car age
With the Mazda MX-5, the Japanese car manufacturer initiated a new age in 1989. Behind the wheel of a roadster, small and lightly built, you were allowed to have real driving pleasure again and let the hairstyle be broken down for manageable budget by the wind. This was followed by such cool double seats as BMW Z3 / Z4 (from 1995) or Porsche Boxster (from 1996), the tamer Mercedes SLK / SLC (from 1996) or the luxurious Mercedes SL. And if you wanted it very unusual, you dreamed in division models such as Toyota MR2 or Honda S 2000.
