On the other hand, according to ADEFAexports to Brazil fell 30% this 2025. Anyway, General Motors has confirmed the rashling’s restyling for the coming months.

In 2024 he had already suffered plant stops and performed similar processes. The Alvear plant, which exclusively produces the SUV tracker model, faced a particularly complicated year. During 2024, the company experienced several months of stops in production and carried out other voluntary retreat processes.

These measures responded to a strong fall in the activity, with an annual projection that went from 430 thousand to 330 thousand units, although the decline was later reversed. The situation began to worsen at the end of 2023, when the plant suspended its production from December to the beginning of March 2024.

Then, on March 27, production stopped again until April 14 due to “inconvenience with the supply of suppliers affected by foreign payments problems.”

At the end of April, the plant pausar its production again for a week, and the numbers began to be alarming: in the first quarter, production fell 23% due to the decrease in sales and exports. The lower demand from Brazil, a consequence of the rise of interest rates and the devaluation of the real arranged by the Government of Lula da Silva, affects almost all terminals.

This situation reduced the competitiveness of Argentine vehicles and led to the Association of Brazilian manufacturers (Anfavea) to cut their sales forecasts for this year. According to data from the Association of Automotive Manufacturers (ADEFA), exports of Argentine vehicles to Brazil fell 32% so far this year compared to the same period of 2024.

In total, the exports of the sector registered a decrease of 13.5%, also impacted by the setback of markets such as Colombia and Peru, although compensated in part by the growth of sales in Central America.
