Blitzer marathon in the “Speedweek”: The police meticulously check this week who adheres to the traffic rules – especially on Wednesday.
Foot of the gas: At the so -called speed camera marathon, the police control the speed in road traffic in large parts of Germany this week. According to the ADAC 14 of the 16 federal states, the campaign participate – the Saarland and Berlin are not here.
With the controls, especially on accident -prone sections and in the area of schools and construction sites, safety on the streets is to be increased. Tempo founders have to expect to be flashed and then receive a fine.
Highlight of the “Speedweek”: Wednesday, April 9th
Not in all participating federal states is checked all week, some concentrate on the main day on Wednesday, April 9, such as Bavaria and Thuringia. According to ADAC, there should be increased controls in countries such as Lower Saxony and Saxony -Anhalt – the campaign is therefore also called “Speedweek”.
The police and employees of municipal traffic surveillance have great effort for the speed camera marathon. According to the Ministry of the Interior, there are said to be around 1,500 measuring points in Bavaria alone. The goal is to stop racers, protect life and sensitize people to responsible driving.
Blitzer marathon is supposed to ensure security
According to the Federal Statistical Office, 2780 people died in the event of accidents in road traffic. Increased speed is one of the central causes of this. In Bavaria, for example, around a quarter of all fatal traffic accidents were due last year to too high and non -adapted speed.
The ADAC sees a contribution to traffic safety in Germany in the speed camera marathon. This succeeds in making the dangers aware of the dangers by driving too fast. “However, such a week alone does not immediately remove all risks in road traffic,” said a spokesman. It is important that everyone always questioned their behavior and, if necessary, change.
