In Russia, 18,423 new motorcycles were sold in 2021, which is 12.6% more than a year earlier. This was stated on February 9 in a joint study of the Avtostat analytical agency and Electronic Passport JSC.
In first place is the BMW brand, which sold 2,831 motorcycles in 2021 (+27.7% compared to 2020). In second place is the Indian brand Bajaj (2444 units; + 28.8%). The top three also included the Motoland brand (1856 units; +19.7%).
As for the regional structure, Moscow accounts for approximately one-fifth of this market (20.9%), or 3,855 new motorcycles purchased. The second place is occupied by the Moscow region with the result of 2057 units. In third place is St. Petersburg, whose residents bought 1,351 motorcycles in 2021.
On December 6, Avto.ru analysts studied how motorcycle prices and supply changed in 2021. It turned out that since the beginning of the year, prices for new models have fallen by 14%, and for used ones have increased by 15%.
The average cost of a new motorcycle in 2021 was 1.1 million rubles, which is 18% more than in 2020. Moreover, the highest prices this year were noted in January and February: since December 2020, the average cost has increased by 7%.
