In Russia, the average price for a used car in January 2022 increased by 60% compared to the same period last year and amounted to 639.8 thousand rubles. This was reported on February 11 by TASS with reference to a study by Avito Avto.
It is noted that the demand for cars with mileage in January 2022 in Russia as a whole remains stable compared to December last year.
Thus, an active growth in demand for used cars at the beginning of 2022 was recorded in Barnaul (+13% compared to December 2021), Irkutsk (+9.1%) and Novosibirsk (+7.5%). In addition, regions with actively growing demand in the used car market at the beginning of 2022 included Makhachkala (+4.8%), Krasnoyarsk (+3%) and Yaroslavl (+2.9%).
According to experts, the supply in the used car market in January this year increased by 4.5% compared to the same period in 2021.
On December 9, it was reported that Avito Auto experts conducted a survey and found out how the plans of Russians to purchase a car had changed due to a shortage of new models in dealerships and rising prices in the car market.
