Cars production grew by 25% in May

The car production grew by 25.2%as reported by the Association of Automotive Factories (ADEFA). The rise is explained mainly by the local market, since last month 0km patents rose 59%.

With 19 business days of activity, automotive terminals produced 48,109 units in May, 5.8 % more compared to April and 25.2 % more if compared to the 38,440 units that occurred in May last year. In the accumulated of the first five months the sector produced a total of 207,630 vehicles, that is, 12.4 % more compared to the same period of 2024.

Continuing with May data, the report indicates that the volume of exported vehicles It was 26,346 units, which threw a 16.4% increase in its comparison with April. If the comparison is against the same month of 2024, the sector registered an increase in sending 14.7%.

In the accumulated January-May, the terminals exported 106,894 units, 0.9 % more with respect to shipments registered in the same period last year.

“In this sense, we agree with the minister on the importance of analyzing new tools that allow us to increase exports and take advantage of the growth that the destination markets of our vehicles in the Latin American region are registering, which in the first section of the year accumulate an increase of 4%, that is, about 55,000 units,” he concluded ZUPPI.

Finally, with regard to wholesale salesthe automotive sector commercialized 58,952 units in May, 12.0 % more if measured with April deliveries and exceeded 111.7 % the volume of the same month last year. Between January and May a total of 239,194 units, 84.5 % over 129,194 units of the first five of 2024 were delivered to commercial networks.
