Driving license away for guns? Fire brigade boss is for that
The fire brigade hurries to the scene of the accident, has their hands full – and then has to take care of intrusive gaffers. The chief of the fire brigade association suggests more hardness.
According to the will, gaffers at accident sites should be able to be punished harder by Germany’s top firefighter Karl-Heinz Banse. “Gaffer remain a permanent annoyance in missions. Something has to change,” said Banse of the “Neue Osnabrücker Zeitung”.

Since previous punishments have apparently not deterred, he demanded improvements from politics: “Gaffers should be punished like drivers who use the cell phone while driving – until the timely acceptance of the driver’s license. This frightens more than abstract fines.”
In the past, firefighters could have concentrated on accidental missions to free victims from wrecks. Today they would have to save victims and keep gaffers away. Law reforms of the past few years have not changed the behavior that, for example, have punished photography or films of dead.
