But no relief? In the coalition agreement, the Federal Government promises a reduction in electricity tax. It probably doesn’t come – to the horror of a craft association.
The Central Association of German Crafts (ZDH) is disappointed with the lack of reduction in electricity tax. “The Federal Government’s announcement not to implement the planned reduction in electricity tax for all craft businesses is a blow to the account for medium-sized companies,” criticized ZDH President Jörg Dittrich.
The companies would have rely on the promise from the coalition agreement. “The decision not to implement this relief as planned is a significant burden, especially for energy -intensive craft businesses,” said Dittrich.
Minister of Economics Reiche: Coalition agreement meets reality
In the coalition agreement, the Federal Government announced that the electricity tax for everyone is reduced to the European minimum. In the budget draft presented by Finance Minister Lars Klingbeil (SPD) on Tuesday, the tax relief is no longer provided. Federal Minister of Economics Katherina Reiche (CDU) said at the day of the industry in Berlin that coalition agreement meets financial possibility and reality.
