They want to charge a fee for parking scooters and bicycles in Moscow. ANO “Platform” National Technology Initiative “(NTI) asked the government of the capital to consider a project to test and implement “smart” parking for electric bikes and scooters. This follows from a letter sent by the NTI Platform to the Moscow mayor’s office.
The use of such parking can cost 350-450 rubles, follows from the materials that Izvestia has read.
The Citypark company, which is supported and promoted by NTI, proposes organizing parking lots for micromobile vehicles equipped with special “smart” locks (the owners of electric scooters and bicycles will be notified about attempts to open them through a special application) – in such parking lots, the vehicle can be recharged, and through the application – call the master to repair the broken device.
Also, on the basis of such parking lots, self-employed citizens, individual entrepreneurs and legal entities will be able to organize their own sharing services without building a new infrastructure unnecessarily: users will also be able to rent bicycles and scooters through a single application, the presentation of the system says.
“Of course, this is a useful project, it may be of interest to the Moscow authorities. Moreover, citizens who do not have free housing to store such vehicles are highly likely to use them, ”says Ilya Zharsky, managing partner of the Veta expert group.
At the same time, according to him, it is highly likely that without additional support from the state and the most thoughtful implementation strategy, thoughtful protection of infrastructure, parked property and liability of citizens in case of intentional damage, the service will be unpopular.
