The Government confirmed that it is analyzing the creation of a National Food Company to lower inflation

“The fight against inflation has to do with price control but also with production and exports, and with international agreements such as the IMF; All these issues are taken together and seen as a global policy in order to be successful in the fight against inflation, which is one of our great objectives”, she concluded this morning.

Robert Feletti, Secretary of Internal Trade had already indicated the will to create tools that allow the State to regulate the price of food in addition to decoupling

What is the proposal about?

The National Director of Integrative Policies of the Ministry of Social Development, Rafael Klejzer, criticized the fact that there are “ten food companies that determine prices” for which he urged the creation of a “National Food Company” that can “sovereignly discuss which product cheaper at the table of the Argentines”.

In a dialogue with Radio 10, the official indicated that “the Care Prices program is very important, because it irons out prices” but warned that “this fight does not have to be done alone, the provinces, the municipalities, everyone must intervene.”

The director pointed out that “the price of merchandise in Argentina is political, it has nothing to do with the stock; the price of tomatoes is not a matter of lack of stock, but of greed” and that for this reason “we must build a correlation of forces, there has to be a political decision, we have to find the hole in mate”.

For this reason, he concluded that “the National Food Company is very important, because you begin to discuss beyond the price, but you sovereignly discuss what product you cheapen at the table of the Argentines.”

How would it work?

“A National Food Company, directly associated with the producers, will allow promoting the active role of the State, in terms of planning, regulation, control, production, cost analysis and food marketing, in a market that today is strongly concentrated and in the hands of large corporations”, explained Rafael Klejzer.

“In this way, it will be possible to generate a reference price for mass consumption products and put a stop to the greed of companies that understand food as a commodity and not as a social right,” he said.

“Normally the increase in food prices is above the inflationary average, that means that there is cruelty with Argentine households and a huge transfer of resources from the popular sectors to the concentrated sectors of the economy,” said the leader. Social.
