Of all people now empty beverage shelves? The NGG union wants to strike the beverage logistician. Among other things, it supplies Rewe – but the effects for consumers seem to be limited.
The Food Guest Gaststätten union (NGG) calls for 24-hour warning strike at the Rewe-Tegelogistic drinking. Ten locations of the company nationwide are to be strike from the early morning, as the NGG announced. The south of Germany is therefore not affected by the strikes.
From corporate circles it means not counting with a noticeable effects. NGG negotiator Philipp Thom told the German Press Agency against the strike will challenge the logistics network of drinks. “The colleagues have a lot to do at this time of year, drinks are particularly in demand.”
However, Thom does not expect items to be missing over a large area. “If articles are already sold out today, they will certainly not be replenished tomorrow,” he added. In North Rhine-Westphalia, the strikes could have an impact in his assessment than in northern and eastern Germany. The locations in Neumünster, Hamburg, Bremen, Hanover, Limburg, Neubrandenburg, Berlin, Leipzig, Frankfurt am and Dresden are strike.
Stocking collective bargaining
The background of the strikes are collective bargaining. After two rounds, the positions would still be too far apart, the offer of the employer is disappointing, the union criticizes. “We do not comment on ongoing negotiations,” said a Rewe spokesman for the dpa.
According to the NGG, the employer side offered a wage increase in two stages. The employees should get the proposal after a total of 155 euros more per month. NGG, on the other hand, demands a wage increase of 300 euros a month for the approximately 1,700 employees.
According to NGG, Trinks primarily supplies Rewe, but also other super and beverage markets. According to the NGG, Rewe is involved in drinks with 50 percent in the beverage logistics. The other half of the shares are therefore distributed to the shareholders of Bitburg brewing group, Krombacher brewery and Warsteiner brewery.
