The way to peace between Russia and Ukraine is still far. After all, the prisoners are progressing. Both sides have released another group of prisoners.

Russia and Ukraine have again exchanged prisoners of war. The basis was the agreements made in Istanbul, as the Russian Ministry of Defense announced. Russian and Ukrainian negotiators had already agreed twice such humanitarian actions there. Ukrainian President Wolodymyr Selenskyj confirmed the exchange in his telegram channel.

Most of the Ukrainians who have now returned home have been captured since 2022, wrote Selenskyj. Accordingly, these were soldiers, members of the National Guard, border protection and railway troops, but also civilians.

Nothing was announced again about the number of released soldiers. It was only said that both sides had released an equally large group. According to the information from Moscow, the handover took place again at the Ukrainian-Belarusian border. The Russian soldiers would initially be medical care in Belarus.

A new round of negotiations on the conditions for the end of the war is also planned. However, an appointment has not yet been determined. Russia has been war on Ukraine for more than three years.
