Men invest more than women in stocks

According to a survey, about a quarter of women invest their money in stocks or funds – there are significantly more for men. Why?

Men still invest their money more than women in stocks or funds. While 43 percent of male respondents invest money in this form, it was only 24 percent among the female participants, as a YouGov survey on behalf of the German Press Agency shows.

Among the private investors surveyed are more men who make investments over 250 or even 500 euros. The investment volume was usually less than 250 euros for investors in the survey.

Accordingly, about a third (33 percent) of the respondents stated that they invested. And the rest? Half of those who do not invest in shares or funds indicate as little as it is to have too little left – for women it is a little less for women.

Many believe not to know enough about investments

“I know too little” in the survey 36 percent of women and among all respondents a third. Only a third estimates that they have good or very good knowledge of stocks or funds. Among the female participants, 42 percent even appreciate their knowledge of stocks and funds as bad.

Younger people tend tend to put on their money. In the age groups of 18 to 24 year olds and 25 to 34-year-olds, the proportion of small investors is 42 and 44 percent. In contrast, the respondents over 54 years are only 27 percent.

Difference between men and women has been stable for years

The fact that men invest more frequently than women also prove figures from the German stock institute, which orders a representative survey annually. “The different level has remained more or less stable over the years,” said the institute’s chief economist, Gerrit Fey, the German press agency. According to experts, more men than women, according to experts, also tend to create. On behalf of the German Press Agency from 25 to June 27, this year, the YouGov opinion research institute asked 2,043 people online. The survey is representative.
