China imposes opposing EU medicine products
In June, the EU decided to partially exclude Chinese providers from public tenders for medical devices. Only Beijing reacts.
China reacts to new EU restrictions and occupies medical devices from the EU with opposing sanctions. Beijing accuses EU double morality
It was the first time that Brussels used a sanction instrument introduced in 2022 that reacted to discriminatory award practice of other states. The Commission founded the step with unequal competitive conditions: European providers are disadvantaged in almost 90 percent of the tenders in China.
