Banks are actively raising rates on mortgages and consumer loans

Since the beginning of February, 44 banks have raised rates on mortgages, and 23 on consumer loans, Izvestia was told in the Sravni.ru financial marketplace.

The growth of rates was recorded both in large and regional banks. For example, in the context of credit institutions in the top 15 in terms of assets, six banks increased interest on mortgages, and seven on consumer loans, the marketplace said.

As a result, the average rate on these products reached 10.67% and 14.28%, respectively, Sravni.ru added, but did not specify the names of banks whose financial products have become more expensive.

In large banks, Izvestia was informed of an increase in rates on housing loans and consumer loans in the range of 0.5–1.25 percentage points.

In particular, the PSB said that in early February they raised mortgage rates under the Novostroyka program by 0.7–1.25 percentage points. depending on the terms of the loan: the amount and size of the down payment. Interest on housing loans was also adjusted in Raiffeisenbank and UBRD. And in the Crimean RNCB noted that this month they increased the rates on consumer loans within 1 percentage point.

In early February, the rates on the main mortgage products were increased by about 1 percentage point, with the exception of state programs. And the cost of consumer loans increased by 0.5 percentage points, said the bank “Saint Petersburg”.

Experts interviewed by Izvestia are confident that a reduction in the key rate before the summer is unlikely, given the signals of the Central Bank. According to their estimates, by the summer mortgage rates may rise to an average of 12% per annum, retail loans – up to 15%.
