Wirecard process: insolvency administrator as a witness in the court

The Wirecard group collapsed five years ago because 1.8 billion euros were missing. Ex-CEO Braun now meets the man who has been looking for money for five years.

In the Munich Wirecard process for the billion-dollar fraud in the 2020 collapse Dax group, the court today (9:00 a.m.) wants to hear one of the most important witnesses: the insolvency administrator Michael Jaffé. Jaffè’s statement could be particularly important for the former CEO Markus Braun, who has been in custody for almost five years now. The lawyer is also busy securing as much money as possible for the creditor of the 2020 collapse Dax Group.

Unquipulated – everything else is not

It is not controversial that Wirecard was cheated on a large scale – the question is who the perpetrators were. The company had collapsed because 1.8 billion euros could be found that the Wirecard chiefs had booked in the group balance. The public prosecutor assumes that it was bogus transactions and never existed. According to the indictment, Braun was a significant member of the fraud gang in the company.

Where are the missing billions?

The Austrian manager, on the other hand, sees himself as an innocent victim. According to Braun’s representation, all business was real, the missing billions are said to have been taken to the side by the real perpetrators around the subordinate sales board member Jan Marsalek. So far, Jaffé has not discovered no trace of the lack of money. This question is expected to be an important point of the insolvency administrator’s witness questioning.
