How good are the offers at Prime Day?

Bargain hunt at Amazon
How cheap are the “Prime Day” offers really?

Amazon advertises “Prime Day” with hundreds of thousands. Are they really worth it? So you quickly find out whether a supposed bargain is actually good.

Amazon makes bargain hunters very flush again. From July 8th to 11th, the portal celebrates its Prime Day this year. The online giant promises “hundreds of thousands of offers” in more than 35 categories for its four -day discount battle. “Up to 35 percent” on beauty products, “up to 40 percent” on Amazon’s own brands. From diapers to headphones to hot air fryers, everything is included.

But are the offers really as great as advertised? How to find out.

Amazon Prime Day as a lock event

First of all, you have to make it clear that Amazon has one goal with the Prime Day: win more loyal customers. People who do not yet have a Prime subscription should complete one. If you are already there, the bargain break is held at the bar.

The regular price for prime membership is currently 8.99 euros a month or 89.90 euros for a whole year. A trial month is free. However, if you only register for a certain bargain and then let the subscription run, even though you or she doesn’t need it, pays it at the end.

Compare prices correctly

Right is: Amazon actually offers many items reduced to the Prime Days. How favorable the offers are actually cannot be seen solely at the level of the promised discount. Because it can refer to a very expensive starting price.

As always, the following applies: switch on the brain and check prices. On price comparison sites such as idealo or mischief, you can simply check whether the Prime-Day Prize is really unbeatable or whether the product is cheaper elsewhere.

There you can also display the cheapest online price in the historical time. So you can see quickly: Is the product really particularly inexpensive or has it been offered in the past at better prices? With the “Keepa” software, there is also a popular tool that brings down the price development of products at Amazon. Exceptionally good offers – whether at Amazon or elsewhere – are also discussed in the bargain community Mydealz.

Unmatch

Of course, Amazon is of little interest in such cool calculations. Therefore, the portal relies on its prime Days on time temporary offers that are supposed to put customers under time pressure.

This year, the sender not only offers changing “offer highlights” in different categories every day. In addition, there are also so-called “lightning offers”, some of which are activated at midnight and “only for a short time and as long as the stock is sufficient”, as Amazon explains in the best teleshopping speech. “Prime members should stop by regularly-new attractive offers sometimes go online every five minutes,” says the press department.

The consumer advice centers advise: If the time is not sufficient for a reasonable price comparison, do not strike prematurely. “Even if you actually missed a bargain: good offers come again and again.”
