Illegal domestic help? Criminal order against employer boss

The President of the total metal employers’ association, Stefan Wolf, will soon have to go to court. Didn’t he register his domestic help correctly?
A criminal order was issued against the president of the total metal employers’ association, Stefan Wolf. According to the public prosecutor’s office in Tübingen, he is said to have employed domestic help for several years without registering them and paying the corresponding social security contributions. The Bad Urach district court issued the punitive order, as announced on request. According to the public prosecutor, Wolf filed an objection, and so there is now a main hearing. Wolf did not comment on the accusation, a association spokesman said.
An appointment for the negotiation was initially not clear. Wolf will be charged 28 actions of the preliminary and misappropriation of work wages. The public prosecutor did not provide any information about the amount of the requested punishment.
As long as there is no judicial decision in this case, the 63-year-old is considered innocent. According to the notification, the investigation in this case has been running since 2022.
Former Elringklinger boss
Wolf was CEO of the car supplier Elringklinger from 2006 to 2023. The Swabian is considered a proven tariff expert. From 2012 to November 2020, the lawyer was chairman of the Südwestmetall employers’ association and participated in numerous tariff degrees. At the end of 2020 he moved to the top of the total metal association, which bundles the nationwide interests of the German metal and electrical industry.
