Four out of ten long -distance trains on the train in June too late

The Deutsche Bahn continues its own punctuality goals. In June, things went worse in both long-distance and regional traffic.

Around 43 percent of Deutsche Bahn’s long -distance trains were on the road in June. As the railway announced, the ICE and IC trains only reached 57.1 percent of the hold in good time- this means: with a maximum of 5:59 minutes delay. In May the punctuality was still 62.0 percent.

According to train information, the reason for the low punctuality is the dilapidated infrastructure. In addition, a lot is being built in the route network.

The punctuality values at a glance:

57.1 percent of the ICE and IC trains were on time – after 62 percent in May 88.9 percent of the trains in regional traffic were on time – after 89.9 percent in May. According to a DB spokesman, storms in Berlin had an impact on punctuality.

For the entire first half of the year, according to rail director Richard Lutz, the group expects almost 64 percent punctuality in long -distance transport. Exact numbers have not yet been published.

Punctuality goal at 65 to 70 percent

The federal group has made a target corridor of 65 to 70 percent for punctuality in long -distance transport this year. The railway chief recently held on this goal. “This is not so far away that we give up our goals and our demands that we have formulated,” said Lutz recently of the dpa. “But that will remain a daily fight.”

The punctuality also deteriorated significantly in June compared to May. It is calculated how many travelers arrived at their travel destination with less than 15 minutes late. In June it was 62.9 percent of travelers – compared to 68 percent in May.
