China’s exports continue in June. The foreign trade thus confirms the expectations of analysts. But some problems remain.
Despite global trade disputes, China’s foreign trade has continued to grown. As the customs authority announced in Beijing, exports in June rose in US dollars by 5.8 percent compared to the same month of the previous year. In the first half of the year, exports grew by 5.9 percent compared to the same period last year. In June, the surplus of trade was around $ 114.77 billion (around 98 billion euros).
Analysts had expected an export increase of around 5 percent in advance for June. The reason for the assumption was also that exporters delivered their goods prematurely out of care from possible other US tariffs.
After a few months in the minus, imports rose slightly by 1.1 percent in June, which also corresponded to the expectations of the market observers. From January to June, however, a decline in imports is 3.9 percent compared to the same period last year.
Due to ongoing disputes with the important trading partners USA and the EU, the second largest economy in the world is under pressure. In China, overheated competition in some industries and a weak demand have been causing problems – the background is also the waving real estate crisis. In addition, the proportion of young people who do not find a job is high.
