Oetker group takes over baking company Kathi
The baked goods manufacturer Kathi is particularly known in East Germany. Now he is about to take over.
The Bielefeld Dr.-Oetker Group buys the baking company Kathi from Saxony-Anhalt. Appropriate contracts have already been signed, the group said. The production site in Halle an der Saale and the approximately 70 employees should therefore be taken over. It was agreed by the purchase price, it said.
Kathi is a manufacturer specializing in baking mixes and flour. According to the announcement, the company will continue to be managed independently by previous management. With the takeover, the Oetker Group would like to strengthen its position in the area of baking mixes and cake specialties.
“As a family -run company, Kathi fits perfectly with the values, goals and strategy of the family company Oetker,” said Managing Director Carl Oetker. Kathi is deeply rooted with its products, especially among consumers in East Germany.
