Transgourmet: 2023 back to pre-crisis level

This is still 20 percent behind 2019, as the company announced yesterday, Friday, by broadcast.

The two managing directors, Thomas Panholzer and Manfred Hayböck, said they were pleased that growth had been achieved despite the challenging circumstances: the decline in sales compared to 2019 was significantly reduced in 2021 despite difficult circumstances.

Transgourmet generates 85 percent of its sales with gastronomy and hotels: the main target group was closed for almost half the year. The restricted supply chains also became a problem. The reason for the positive development compared to 2020 was the good summer. For 2022 one is “cautiously optimistic”: The pre-crisis level should be reached in 2023.

According to Nielsen, Transgourmet, a subsidiary of the Swiss Coop Group, has a market share of 25.9 percent.
