Union and companies cannot agree on the future payment at TÜV. Now main inspections could fail. Whether, when and how many depends on the region.
Verdi calls for warning strikes in the collective bargaining with several TÜV companies. Auto or motorcycle owners are also likely to be affected, who bring your vehicle to the main inspection, as the union says. The TÜV Nord but also TÜV Hessen are affected. Prerequisite collective bargaining for around 20,000 employees in the past few weeks was preceded.
According to Verdi, the warning strikes relate to all areas of the companies concerned, but most consumers come into contact with the companies, especially in connection with the regular main inspection (HU) of their vehicles, for which the TÜV is a colloquial synonym. Other fields of TÜVS – the abbreviation comes from technical surveillance association – are, for example, plant security, the testing of products or certification.
In the north two days, in the south almost two weeks
In the area of TÜV Nord and TÜV Hessen, the warning strikes concentrate on July 22nd and 23, as the next round of negotiations takes place there on July 24th and 25th. Then there will be restrictions across the board – with a “relevant proportion” of the main inspections, says a spokesman.
At TÜV Süd, the next round of negotiations will only take place on August 1st, until then there should be short-term regional promotions-both in the TÜV’s own test centers and at HUS carried out by TÜV examiners in car workshops.
For employees at TÜV Süd, Verdi calls for 8 percent increase in pay, but at least 300 euros with a 12 -month term and an advantage for union members. For employees in the TÜV BUND area, which include the TÜVS North and Hesse, Verdi demands 7.5 percent, but at least 330 euros with a period of 12 months. The offers of the employers are significantly below.
