They approve new loan with the World Bank for US $ 230 million

Decree 482/2025, published Monday in the Official Gazette, authorizes the subscription of a loan with the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development. The Ministry of Human Capital will be responsible for executing the program, which will be in charge of promoting employment.

The Government signed the Decree 482/2025which authorizes the Argentine Republic to subscribe a loan by U $ 230 million with the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (BIRF)part of the World Bank Group, in order to finance the project “Promote better jobs with integrated training and employment programs”. The measure was formalized on Monday, July 21 and also carries the signatures of the Chief of Cabinet, Guillermo Francosand the Minister of Economy, Luis Caputo.

The new program will seek Improve the employability of vulnerable and prioritized sectorsespecially young people, women and unemployed people, through active labor training policies, institutional strengthening and economic support for participation in training instances.

  • Strengthening of the municipal employment office networkwith the aim of providing more effective orientation, intermediation and monitoring.

  • Program management and supervisionin coordination with international organizations and local governments.

According to the analysis of the Central Bank of the Argentine Republic (BCRA)the operation represents a “limited” impact in macroeconomic terms and is “consistent with the dynamics provided for external operations.” The National Public Credit Office He added that the financial cost of the loan is lower than the country could obtain in the market.

The decree empowers the Minister of Economy and the Secretary of Finance to Sign the BIRF 9823-AR Agreementtogether with its official Spanish translation, which includes six articles, three annexes and an appendix with the general conditions of financing and regulations applicable to acquisitions.

In addition, officials are authorized introduce minor modifications to the agreement, provided that they do not imply substantial alterations in the object, destination or amount of the loan, nor affect the established arbitration procedure.
