US President Donald Trump recently tried a product announcement for Coca-Cola. The group now makes it clear that there is no complete waiver of corn syrup in US drinks.
After US President Donald Trump announced great that Coca-Cola would use cane sugar in the USA, the group now clarifies: It is only an additional offer. Coca-Cola said that one will not replace the maize syrup used today, but introduce a new product range with cane sugar. It should come onto the market in autumn.
In the USA you can already buy Mexican Coca-Cola with cane sugar at a higher price. In US production, sugar-containing Coca-Cola-drinks-unlike in other countries-have been sweetened with a hollow fructose content since the 1980s. The syrup is cheaper, sweeter and longer durable than other types of sugar.
Among other things, he is criticized by Trump’s Minister of Health Robert F. Kennedy Jr.. Trump himself is known as a drinker sugar -free Diet Coke with sweeteners. Nevertheless, he wrote last week that everyone would see that Coca-Cola with cane sugar was “just better”.
Industry experts then pointed out that the United States did not produce enough cane sugar to replace corn syrup in the drinks. The warning also came from the US agricultural industry that a switch to cane sugar of American corn farmers would harm.
