Mechanical engineer Dürr wants to reduce 500 jobs in administration

The mechanical engineer and car supplier Dürr wants to delete around 500 jobs in the administration. This was announced by the company in Bietigheim-Bissingen (Ludwigsburg district). Dürr wants to save 50 million euros annually, the effect of 2027 should be effective for the first time. The company had previously announced that he wanted to set up the administration slimmer.
According to the message, the demand remained behind the expectations in the second quarter. The customers are unsettled, mainly because of the ongoing customs conflicts. The forecast for the order input is therefore fully adopted.
Dürr separated environmental technology division
Meanwhile, sales in the previous year fell to a billion euros. The margin of the operational result before special effects fell by 0.2 percentage points to 4.2 percent. The numbers relate to the continued business, so the environmental technology cling.
At the end of June, the company listed in the S-DAX had given the majority of the business with environmental technology. Three quarters of the area should be sold to the US finance investor in ATTEX for around 250 million euros. Among other things, it produces systems that burn pollutants in the exhaust air of industrial companies. These are used, for example, in the chemical, pharmaceutical and car industry. In 2024, the division achieved sales of 407 million euros.
Since Dürr had already sold a division in 2024, the administration should now be reduced. “The aim is to adapt the administrative area to the new company size and at the same time make it more efficient,” it said at the end of June.
