Media reports have been circulating for a long time that the Chinese group JD.com can take over the MediaMarkt mother Ceconomy. Now it will be more specific.

According to its own statements, the MediaMarkt-Saturn mother Ceconomy has advanced talks about a takeover by the Chinese e-commerce group JD.com. The group, headquartered in Beijing, is considering a voluntary public takeover offer of 4.60 per ordinary share in cash, said Ceconomy in Düsseldorf. Legally binding agreements have not yet been concluded.



The ceconomy share recently won more than ten percent at just under 4.14 euros. Since the beginning of the year, it has increased around 58 percent in the course of ongoing takeover fantasies.

The largest shareholder of the Düsseldorf is the co -founder family Kellerhals with 29.2 percent. In addition, there is a Meridian Foundation involved in the Mertro wholesale group with a good eleven percent, the family group Haniel with 16.7 percent and Freenet with 6.7 percent.
